might be worthwhile to check out steve coleman's blog for ideas: http://mbase.wordpress.com/

i think the freedom of the blog format allows for you to post sound files: post a file and have a critical analysis of it.

my $.02, love what you guys do.

Good idea, something we had in mind. Feel free anyone to post a URL to a soundfile, or the soundfile itself if you can do it here. You may need authorization from me to do an original post; if so let me know.
Or just post the URL in a comment to this call for threads and I'll start a thread for it.

I would be very interested in learning to compose, but I had a difficult time learning counterpoint (apparently Cage never took to harmony well either). What materials does one recommend for the aspiring composer without academic support?

Is contemporary music eternal due the nature of recording and the ease with which written music can be preserved?
